Artist Statement

"My practice has been predominately concerned with exploring the intricacies, dualities and the celebration of relationships. My approach to these common and universal themes is rooted in an intimate and personal narrative. I am interested in the subtle links and connections between people, experience, emotion, and personal reality. I aim to present a normalized, even mundane, portrayal of complex emotional ideas through representing and revealing the subtleties and layers of human experience. Recently, I’ve made a move towards exploring these ideas in minimal, and non-representational ways - shifting away from personal, intimate portraiture to representing people and ideas through shape, colour and form.
